The mysterious Maya were obsessed with time. Even today, there are the Daykeepers who have have been keeping the time in the ancient tradition for over 5,000 years. They still use several different calendars to count their time.

The name for the sacred calendar that they keep is called The Tzolkin (pronounced chol-kin), which means Book of Days. This is a 260 day cycle, also the human gestation period. Within this calendar are units of time based on the solar days and the lunar phases. The days are first numbered up to 13 kin then start again. The next are the Uinal (pronounced wee-nal), a set of 20 signs or glyphs representing 20 types of solar manifestations. These are the symbols that form the basis of this work and are also known as Day Signs, Solar Seals, or Solar Tribes. These tribes are incorporated within the yearly lunar calendar.

It seems that there are two main types of space-time calendars that most people use as far as I have found. One is The Tzolkin, the established Mayan Book of Days, and the other is called The Dreamspell and uses a monthly lunar cycle. (For more detailed explainations from experts, please see the Links section.)The Dreamspell was actually invented by Jose Argüelles, a mystic, but has really become popular among people.

For this music, I will follow the Tzolkin, but I also recommend looking up your birth data via the Dreamspell. Personally I have found that they both apply in different ways to the aspects of my soul in this world, and to my interdimensional self.

Today, in most circles of new thought, there is great weight given to the date 2012, at or just before December 21st, depending on who's counting, when the calendar marks the end of a major time period. It is the common understanding that it is not the end of the earth, but an end to a way of being and a new beginning. At this point, we will be aligned with the Galactic Center of our Universe -- the center of the Milky Way -- where the light of the sun shall be intensified (and the light of spiritual evolution as well).

Once we get to this point, everyone who is open to evolving will just have a knowing that things will never be the same again. Hopefully at this time there will also be the recognition that we are one body consisting of all of our souls, the earth and everything on the planet. There is no separation.

Joining with this time signature of 13:20 means that we welcome this change and that we move in synchronicity with it. We move from a timing which has entrained us into a mechanical and materialistic design into one of peace, unity and conscious evolution.
